Probiotics is another way to assist your anti-aging regimen. They contain vitamin B and B12 and are found in fermented foods and drinks and such foods as yogurt and help you resist diseases and slows the aging process.

Since B vitamins are diluted by water, it’s difficult to get too much – so overdosing isn’t a problem. You should know that Vitamin B12 is found in animal products, so if you’re a vegetarian or vegan, you may need supplements getting enough.

If you don’t get enough vitamin B, you may develop a vitamin deficiency and that could result in lowering your body’s immune system which helps fight illness and diseases. Your organs’ functions depend on B vitamins to stay healthy and robust.

Everyday Beauty Tips

Each of us is unique in the way. Some of us prefer cold weather and some of us love warm weather all year round. I’m somewhat of an outdoors person and can’t wait for my next hiking trip. Others look forward to that 5 star hotel. Whatever the case, we have different likes, both inside and out. We all have different diets and live in various places where the climate is either nice or harmful to our skin.

But there are a few things that are good for all of us to use as beauty tips, which will enhance your routine and help you look fresher and more well-groomed. As an esthetician, I wax people throughout the day and see a lot of dry skin. Therefore, one thing I know for sure is there is a need to exfoliate your skin on a regular basis.

Unless there are underlying medical issues, exfoliation is one beauty tip that can get rid of dead skin cells that make your skin appear dry and dull. It doesn’t do much good to lather your skin with moisturizer when dead skin is present. That film left on your shower curtain is also attached to your skin unless you take measures to get rid of it.

Rest is another element that’s essential to glowing skin and bright eyes. That’s why it’s called beauty sleep. As you age, sleep is even more important to renew and rejuvenate. Your bodily cells renew themselves when you rest and help you look refreshed during the day. So don’t be shy to take that quick nap.

If you have trouble sleeping, try to relax before bedtime. Deep breathing exercises, limiting heavy meals and alcohol will help you get in the mood for a good night’s rest. Adding a warm bath with some added aromatherapy oil can add additional benefits.

Toxins contained in cigarettes not only affect your lungs, but they’re brutal to your skin. Alcohol causes drying of the skin. Both alcohol and cigarettes aren’t conducive to anyone’s beauty and can significantly harm your skin.

Hair is considered your crowning glory. You can boost the strength and beauty of your hair by eating protein-rich foods which increase the keratin (structural component) of your hair. I’ve recently been taking biotin and am looking for positive results soon. It’s also good for your nails. Including eggs, nuts, meat and seeds in your diet will provide natural protein that’s good for hair and nails.

Another beauty tip that all of us can benefit from is to groom your eyebrows. You can go from looking bushy to beautiful in just a few moments and bring focus to your eyes. Trimming and waxing brows will give you a finished look. You may need to look at the fashion magazines to determine your shape. Also, have your esthetician follow your natural brow line to enhance your look. If they have thinned out, add brow powder or pencil to give your face a fuller look.

All of us can benefit from protecting the skin from the elements. Sun, wind and cold can dry out the skin and make it itchy and pale. Neisha’s Waxing 101

I provide several waxing services per day. I can perform anything from eyebrow maintenance to full leg waxing and everything else in between. By providing so many waxing services, I have seen pleasant experiences turn bad. However, not all is lost. Clients can receive the best waxing experience with proper timing and at home care.

Waxing hair removal uses a resin-based wax like product to remove the entire hair follicle from the root. Results can last up to six weeks. Generally, it is best to visit your salon every four weeks. This will keep the hair maintained and make the waxing experience tolerable.

The waxing experience is a warm wax mixture spread over hair in the direction of its growth and a paper or cloth strip is then placed on top of soft wax. Hard wax doesn’t require a strip because it cools solid enough, and becomes a strip in itself. Cold wax is usually already applied to pre-made strips, but a little friction over it helps generate some heat for wax to soften and better adhere to the hair.

 

Since getting hair pulled from its root is not the most pleasant experience, I tell my clients to breathe out as I pull. This eases the pain and allows the client to focus on breathing instead of the task at hand. I have had many say it does work. I can attest to it working because I do the same.

 

Once wax has slightly cooled or has grasped enough to the hair, it is then pulled off in the opposite direction of hair growth. The entire hair follicle should be removed from the root, if the waxing is done correctly. If all the hair is not removed, the waxer may go over the same area again. If that doesn’t work, she may then tweeze. However, to avoid or lessen these extra steps, it would be best for the client to exfoliate a few times a week to assist in removing dry skin. Hard wax or Strip wax?

A comparison of waxes should be known. Both hard wax and strip wax are often used in waxing process. When it comes to pain and irritation, hard wax is more advantageous over strip wax. Hard wax is indeed less irritating to the skin and most people find it to be less painful. Often hard wax is used on the face, the underarms and strip wax for larger areas of the body.

Why is waxing better than shaving?

When you wax, the entire hair shaft is removed, root and all, rather than cutting it off at the surface of the skin like you do when you shave. This leaves your skin super smooth with no stubble. Harsh Skincare Products

All skincare products are not good for the skin. Companies may claim that their product is safe, but in fact, it could harm your skin and cause it to age prematurely. Before using a product you should read the label and make sure that you know exactly what the ingredients are and the effects that they will have on your skin.

A few ingredients that may be causing your skin to age are emulsifiers, sulfates, and alcohol. Emulsifiers are added to skincare products, like face wash, in order to bind the ingredients together and keep the individual parts of the product from separating. Moreover, emulsifiers have a tendency to stick to the skin even after you wash the product off, leaving clogged pores to dry out the surface of the skin causing wrinkles.

Many companies use sulfates because they are an inexpensive foaming agent. They manufacture products with satisfying foaming components, but are very drying when used every day. They may also damage the surface of the skin.

Alcohol is another common ingredient in skincare that you should be wary of. It dries out the skin and breaks down the natural defenses. This process leaves the skin vulnerable.

As you can see from above, there are many simple things that you can incorporate into your everyday life to minimize signs of aging. You can reduce age signs by remembering to put on sunscreen, cleanse, and moisturize your skin. The Outward Signs of Aging Skin

Decreased skin elasticity (sagging skin and wrinkles) is the hallmark sign of aging skin. Skin primarily consists of two proteins, collagen and elastin. Collagen’s three stranded helical shape is what consists of the skin’s strength, firmness, and elastic properties. Elastin, by virtue of its name, contributes most to the skin’s elasticity. It allows skin to quickly return to its normal position after it has been depressed or pulled out of place.

As skin ages, it takes longer to return to its normal position. The ability of collagen and elastin to function properly declines with age. This is due in large part to one’s genetic makeup. However, there are some behaviors that accelerate loss of elasticity, skin sagging, and wrinkles. These include smoking, exposure to U.V. radiation, stress, insufficient sleep, and a high sugar intake. Even if one leads a healthy lifestyle by staying out of the sun, not smoking, avoiding stress, getting eight hours of sleep every night, and never eating refined sugars, one still has to contend with her genetic composition.

Aging skin also reveals shrunken capillaries which result from arteries clogged with cholesterol and calcium deposits. Arterial flexibility throughout the body decreases with age, and there is compromised blood flow to the periphery, particularly to the skin. Reduced blood flow means less oxygen and nutrient delivery to the skin.
