Feel Younger with Probiotics

Medical experts say it’s never too late to quit smoking, drinking, eating a poor nutrition diet, not exercising or to begin taking action that prevents premature or rapid aging. If you begin now, no matter what age you may be, you’ll be sure to cut back some of the effects that aging has on your mind and body.

If you haven’t heard about the benefits of adding probiotics to your diet, you may have been under a rock for years. Probiotics may not be the fountain of youth, but they can definitely boost your health and help you look and feel younger.

Probiotics are the positive bacteria found in your body that help prevent and treat illnesses. When you have a healthy digestive tract, your immune system benefits enormously and you tend to have a healthier glow and feel younger than you are. Also, not drinking enough water can cause the skin to dry out and dehydrate, causing fine lines and a crepe-like appearance. This habit is an easy fix by drinking more water every day and using moisturizer that traps moisture in your skin. It’s an instantaneous way to look younger.

Physicians often prescribe probiotics to help with digestive problems such as GERD or indigestion and you can get them in supplements or foods such as yogurt and even chocolate.

Probiotics keep you young and healthy by several methods. You lose much of the beneficial bacteria in your body by just living life and lose even more when you take antibiotics and don’t practice eating a good and healthy diet plan.probiotics8-1

The main benefit to probiotics to your body is that they move food through your digestive system efficiently and rapidly. They’re capable of assisting you if you have a condition such as IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), eczema and urinary or vaginal problems.

Mainly, probiotics can help to keep your “good” and “harmful” bacteria in check and working as it should to keep you healthy and your body functioning properly. The two kinds of probiotics are lactobacillus and bifidobacterium.

Lactobacillus is the one most people consume from fermented foods and yogurt. These probiotics can be very advantageous to those who are intolerant of lactose – found in milk. Be careful if you’re a yo-yo dieter, trying all the new fad diets, it will take a toll on your body. Constant weight gain and loss repeatedly stretches the skin and breaks down the elasticized fibers which lead to sagging and stretch marks.

Bifidobacterium can be found in many dairy products and will ease issues associated with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and other stomach and digestive tract problems. Make sure you check with your doctor about dosage.

Scientific evidence shows that you can prevent illnesses and even treat some of them by ingesting food and supplements which contain a certain type of live bacteria. Fermented foods such as sauerkraut and yogurt contain these beneficial microorganisms from which you can gain a ton of benefits.

By helping to prevent such disorders and diseases as GERD and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), probiotics can add years to your life and help your immune system resist other diseases which can make you feel and look older than you really are. Learn all you can about probiotics and how they may help you regulate your digestive systems easily and naturally.

Gain Energy While Losing Weight

Okay, so I don’t exercise as often as I should. One way or another, I put other things in front of exercise. How do you keep your energy up and your weight down as you age? It all depends on how effective your metabolism is working to burn fat and provides the energy you need to stay active. Of course I know this because none of us is getting younger.

You may be consuming the same amount of calories you did when you were younger, but still gaining wait – and your energy may be waning much more rapidly than you’d like. You still want to be active and maintain your weight and something’s just not working. Therefore, moving is so much more important now.

Adjusting your food intake or the types of foods you eat is necessary as you age. You may also want to concentrate on different types of exercises than in the past to keep your metabolism revved up as much as possible. I saw an interview on television a few years ago where a doctor was interviewed on weight loss. He was so passionate about moving that while the reporter was asking him questions, he walked one m.p.h. while answering questions. Talk about being into his job.

As you age, it’s important that you reassess your diet and exercise plans – especially if you’re noticing the pounds creep on and have much less energy than usual. An aging body doesn’t react the same to any efforts you might expend, so it may be necessary to change your strategy. The older we get, the more we have to rethink how we can stay active and watch or diet.

Menopause is a phenomenon that causes weight gain and low energy. These rapidly changing hormones can wreak havoc with your muscle tone, weight and energy level. This is why women tend to put on weight more easily than men during the aging process. This is the reason women complain about men losing weight so much easier.

Also on another note, we don’t need as many calories as you age, but we may be eating the same. Try to ingest smaller portions and eat a more balanced diet with lower calorie foods to keep your weight in check.

It’s likely that you don’t move around as much as when you were young because life isn’t as hectic and you have more time for relaxation. Many physicians are recommending the Mediterranean diet plan to seniors for more energy and weight maintenance and loss.

The Mediterranean diet places more of an emphasis on whole grains, healthy fats, veggies and fruit, which are usually lower in calories and provide more energy to help you exercise more.

Choose an exercise you love to participate in. You may want to enjoy less demanding types such as yoga or a walking. If you enjoy it, you’ll keep at it and that’s the key to maintaining your fitness level.exercise-stretch

Unfortunately, there’s no magic bullet to maintaining or losing weight as you age or keeping the energy level you once had. The key continues to be found in diet and exercise, but the benefits you’ll enjoy are numerous. A focus on the end goal is also key. Let’s see if we can stay focused throughout the holiday season. Santa will be here before you know it bringing good cheer. Let’s be slimmer when he comes down the chimney this year.

B Vitamins: The Anti-Aging Vitamin

As I look at the vitamins at my local drug store, I can see how deficient we are in our supplements. I can only imagine how our bodies are craving the proper nutrients. One vitamin I’d like to know more about is B vitamins. First, they can help prevent premature aging and also rejuvenate your skin and your health. When we understand how B vitamins operate, we can check out the various types of B vitamins available and which supplements we want to ingest.GarlicCloves

Unfortunately, our bodies probably don’t get enough B vitamins unless we intake a diet rich in this nutrient. Vitamin B is complex and each type contributes to your well-being in different ways. Some help reduce the risk of cancer, another may help stabilize the nervous system and others may enhance your skin or help your metabolism function properly. Vitamin B also encourages the development of red blood cells, combats the harmful results of stress, and helps calm and maintain a healthy nervous system.

Three B Vitamins are folate, vitamins B6 and B12. They are the three of the most effective vitamins that can help your skin look younger and healthier. You can get them in your diet by eating foods such as greens (spinach and mustard), fish, garlic, eggs, milk and others.

Probiotics is another way to assist your anti-aging regimen. They contain vitamin B and B12 and are found in fermented foods and drinks and such foods as yogurt and help you resist diseases and slows the aging process.

Since B vitamins are diluted by water, it’s difficult to get too much – so overdosing isn’t a problem. You should know that Vitamin B12 is found in animal products, so if you’re a vegetarian or vegan, you may need supplements getting enough.

If you don’t get enough vitamin B, you may develop a vitamin deficiency and that could result in lowering your body’s immune system which helps fight illness and diseases. Your organs’ functions depend on B vitamins to stay healthy and robust.

Nutritional aspects of B vitamins include Thiamine, also known as Vitamin B1, Niacin, better known as vitamin B3, Pantothenic Acid, or Vitamin B5, Cobalamin, which is commonly called B12, Pyridoxine – or Vitamin B6, Inositol, which is actually B8, Biotin – important for hair and nails, which is B7, Folic Acid – or Vitamin B9 and Riboflavin – also known as Vitamin B2.baby-spinach

Each of these nutrients are unique, but act together to contribute to your body’s overall health. Your skin can also benefit from B vitamins. B12 can rejuvenate your skin and help it produce new cells and slough off the old ones. B12 is also known to boost brain acuity by helping develop brain cells and to improve memory.

Some B vitamins can be found in liquid moisturizer form to help keep your skin soft and supple and prevent dryness, fine lines and wrinkles. A blood test can verify if you’re getting enough vitamin B in your normal diet plan or if you need to enhance it with supplements.

Everyday Beauty Tips

Each of us is unique in the way. Some of us prefer cold weather and some of us love warm weather all year round. I’m somewhat of an outdoors person and can’t wait for my next hiking trip. Others look forward to that 5 star hotel. Whatever the case, we have different likes, both inside and out. We all have different diets and live in various places where the climate is either nice or harmful to our skin.

But there are a few things that are good for all of us to use as beauty tips, which will enhance your routine and help you look fresher and more well-groomed. As an esthetician, I wax people throughout the day and see a lot of dry skin. Therefore, one thing I know for sure is there is a need to exfoliate your skin on a regular basis.

Unless there are underlying medical issues, exfoliation is one beauty tip that can get rid of dead skin cells that make your skin appear dry and dull. It doesn’t do much good to lather your skin with moisturizer when dead skin is present. That film left on your shower curtain is also attached to your skin unless you take measures to get rid of it.

Rest is another element that’s essential to glowing skin and bright eyes. That’s why it’s called beauty sleep. As you age, sleep is even more important to renew and rejuvenate. Your bodily cells renew themselves when you rest and help you look refreshed during the day. So don’t be shy to take that quick nap.

If you have trouble sleeping, try to relax before bedtime. Deep breathing exercises, limiting heavy meals and alcohol will help you get in the mood for a good night’s rest. Adding a warm bath with some added aromatherapy oil can add additional benefits.

Toxins contained in cigarettes not only affect your lungs, but they’re brutal to your skin. Alcohol causes drying of the skin. Both alcohol and cigarettes aren’t conducive to anyone’s beauty and can significantly harm your skin.

Hair is considered your crowning glory. You can boost the strength and beauty of your hair by eating protein-rich foods which increase the keratin (structural component) of your hair. I’ve recently been taking biotin and am looking for positive results soon. It’s also good for your nails. Including eggs, nuts, meat and seeds in your diet will provide natural protein that’s good for hair and nails.

Another beauty tip that all of us can benefit from is to groom your eyebrows. You can go from looking bushy to beautiful in just a few moments and bring focus to your eyes. Trimming and waxing brows will give you a finished look. You may need to look at the fashion magazines to determine your shape. Also, have your esthetician follow your natural brow line to enhance your look. If they have thinned out, add brow powder or pencil to give your face a fuller look.

All of us can benefit from protecting the skin from the elements. Sun, wind and cold can dry out the skin and make it itchy and pale. Always wear sunscreen and moisturizer and hydrate your skin and body by drinking plenty of water. Be sure to visit the rest of my website  to meet all your beauty needs.

Harsh Skincare Products

All skincare products are not good for the skin. Companies may claim that their product is safe, but in fact, it could harm your skin and cause it to age prematurely. Before using a product you should read the label and make sure that you know exactly what the ingredients are and the effects that they will have on your skin.

products

A few ingredients that may be causing your skin to age are emulsifiers, sulfates, and alcohol. Emulsifiers are added to skincare products, like face wash, in order to bind the ingredients together and keep the individual parts of the product from separating. Moreover, emulsifiers have a tendency to stick to the skin even after you wash the product off, leaving clogged pores to dry out the surface of the skin causing wrinkles.

Many companies use sulfates because they are an inexpensive foaming agent. They manufacture products with satisfying foaming components, but are very drying when used every day. They may also damage the surface of the skin.

Alcohol is another common ingredient in skincare that you should be wary of. It dries out the skin and breaks down the natural defenses. This process leaves the skin vulnerable.

As you can see from above, there are many simple things that you can incorporate into your everyday life to minimize signs of aging. You can reduce age signs by remembering to put on sunscreen, cleanse, and moisturize your skin. However, be sure to avoid smoking, tanning, and products without known contents.  Don’t make the mistake of waiting until it’s too late to preserve your skin. Be sure to visit the rest of my website  to meet all your beauty needs.

Care for Aging Skin

The Outward Signs of Aging Skin

Decreased skin elasticity (sagging skin and wrinkles) is the hallmark sign of aging skin. Skin primarily consists of two proteins, collagen and elastin. Collagen’s three stranded helical shape is what consists of the skin’s strength, firmness, and elastic properties. Elastin, by virtue of its name, contributes most to the skin’s elasticity. It allows skin to quickly return to its normal position after it has been depressed or pulled out of place.

As skin ages, it takes longer to return to its normal position. The ability of collagen and elastin to function properly declines with age. This is due in large part to one’s genetic makeup. However, there are some behaviors that accelerate loss of elasticity, skin sagging, and wrinkles. These include smoking, exposure to U.V. radiation, stress, insufficient sleep, and a high sugar intake. Even if one leads a healthy lifestyle by staying out of the sun, not smoking, avoiding stress, getting eight hours of sleep every night, and never eating refined sugars, one still has to contend with her genetic composition.

antiaging

Aging skin also reveals shrunken capillaries which result from arteries clogged with cholesterol and calcium deposits. Arterial flexibility throughout the body decreases with age, and there is compromised blood flow to the periphery, particularly to the skin. Reduced blood flow means less oxygen and nutrient delivery to the skin. A healthy diet packed with antioxidant rich fruits and vegetables will not be as beneficial if the vitamins and minerals cannot reach the skin cells. Be sure to visit the rest of my website  to meet all your beauty needs.
