Anti-Aging Serum

When it comes to using a product that combats wrinkles, most experts know that Vitamin C is a near miracle treatment. But, when you enhance the Vitamin C with hyaluronic acid, it becomes a near “fountain of youth” for aging skin. I use Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid in my facials to give clients that extra boost of anti-aging benefits.

The reason this combination of ingredients work so well is that vitamin C plays an integral part in providing necessary anti-oxidants which prevent free radicals from damaging your skin.

Free radicals are found in the actual environment in which you live, so you can’t avoid them. Beauty experts just recently understand the part that the derivative of Vitamin C,  sodium ascorbyl phosphate, plays in combating the signs of aging that naturally occurs with your skin. My clients appreciate being up to date on the latest beauty treatments, and getting the biggest bang for their bucks.anti-aging-serum-or-cream

This derivative of Vitamin C boosts the antioxidant powers of the main aspect of the vitamin, preventing wrinkles and lines from permeating your complexion. It also acts to slow down the production of melanin which is the cause of age spots and other types of hyperpigmentation which may occur as you age.

Sodium ascorbyl is also a key factor in helping your body to naturally produce and absorb Vitamin C when most needed. This provides you with the Vitamin C you need for your anti-aging plan in a natural and pure form that’s much more effective than other methods.

When hyaluronic acid is added to the mix, you have the advantage of the miracle-working properties that can bind the collagen in your skin by keeping moisture in so wrinkles are plumped and hydrated – virtually disappearing and leaving you glowing and young-looking.

Hyaluronic acid in this anti-aging wrinkle serum uses concentrated vegan hyaluronic acid, meaning that it’s natural and chemical free. It’s gentle enough to heal and hydrate your skin while using its power to provide antioxidants so your skin contains moisture much easier.

Anti-aging wrinkle serum, enhanced Vitamin C serum with hyaluronic acid not only serves as an anti-aging treatment to repair and prevent wrinkles.  It also helps rid your eyes from dark circles and repairs sun damage you may have suffered in the past.

Be sure to check with your esthetician to find out about products for your continuing beauty needs. You’ll find that these products usually exceed all your anti-aging expectations.

Anti-Aging and Acne Skin Care

Acne can become a problem for all age groups. Acne scars the face and lowers self-esteem. People with acne are likely to be less social than others and try every product that comes along to try and solve the problem. The cause of acne begins when the pores of your skin become clogged with dead skin, oil and some bacteria. Hair follicles in the pores of your skin contain oil glands (called sebaceous) which push oil (sebum) out of a pore through the hair follicle and up to the skin, causing bacteria to form a pimple.

Adult acne occurs when you may have developed a health problem or an over-production of hormones which can occur as your body changes with age. Adult acne requires a stronger treatment than when you were a teenager and picked up a product from the drugstore shelf.

Beginning at about the age of 20, the oxygen that gets to your skin begins to decrease in volume and wrinkles begin to form. It may be mostly unnoticeable for awhile, but eventually, you’ll begin to notice the changes as your skin becomes dryer and dull in appearance.

In addition, cleansing your skin at the end of the day is crucial. Don’t make the mistake of going to bed without taking the time get rid of all the grime that accumulates on your skin throughout the day. You may not see the harm in skipping out on cleansing your skin but if you don’t wash your face, you prolong the exposure that your skin has to free radicals that may have been picked up from air pollution.

Left unchecked, free radicals have the potential to break down the collagen in your skin; which gives the skin a sallow and loose appearance. If you sleep in your makeup, you can also leave the skin unprotected against chemicals that may irritate the skin and hinder the natural process that your skin has of renewing itself while you sleep.

It’s also important to look at products. Some products contain concentrated ingredients that increase oxygen intake to the skin, cell rejuvenating, and boosts the skin’s collagen production. These products offer one of the best anti-aging acne skin care treatments with its serum that smooths the skin and prevents adult acne from taking place. They also contain products with bio-cellular oxygen facial firming treatment and rejuvenation cream lotion with antioxidants to give you a flawless and glowing skin.

It works by supplying a super-charged amount of skin firming ingredients to ensure that your acne-prone skin type gets an increased level of oxygen and antioxidants to leave you looking youthful and rid your skin of the annoying and irritating red bumps.

Not only will you have the advantage of a smoothing and firming serum, but you’ll also enjoy an innovative method of hydrating and re-energizing your skin. Collagen-enhancing ingredients go directly to the cells of the skin, hitting problems on a cellular level so you look your very best.

Your esthetician will probably choose products are completely paraben free and are   formulated by scientific experts that have your ultimate beauty in mind.

Everyday Beauty Tips

Each of us is unique in the way. Some of us prefer cold weather and some of us love warm weather all year round. I’m somewhat of an outdoors person and can’t wait for my next hiking trip. Others look forward to that 5 star hotel. Whatever the case, we have different likes, both inside and out. We all have different diets and live in various places where the climate is either nice or harmful to our skin.

But there are a few things that are good for all of us to use as beauty tips, which will enhance your routine and help you look fresher and more well-groomed. As an esthetician, I wax people throughout the day and see a lot of dry skin. Therefore, one thing I know for sure is there is a need to exfoliate your skin on a regular basis.

Unless there are underlying medical issues, exfoliation is one beauty tip that can get rid of dead skin cells that make your skin appear dry and dull. It doesn’t do much good to lather your skin with moisturizer when dead skin is present. That film left on your shower curtain is also attached to your skin unless you take measures to get rid of it.

Rest is another element that’s essential to glowing skin and bright eyes. That’s why it’s called beauty sleep. As you age, sleep is even more important to renew and rejuvenate. Your bodily cells renew themselves when you rest and help you look refreshed during the day. So don’t be shy to take that quick nap.

If you have trouble sleeping, try to relax before bedtime. Deep breathing exercises, limiting heavy meals and alcohol will help you get in the mood for a good night’s rest. Adding a warm bath with some added aromatherapy oil can add additional benefits.

Toxins contained in cigarettes not only affect your lungs, but they’re brutal to your skin. Alcohol causes drying of the skin. Both alcohol and cigarettes aren’t conducive to anyone’s beauty and can significantly harm your skin.

Hair is considered your crowning glory. You can boost the strength and beauty of your hair by eating protein-rich foods which increase the keratin (structural component) of your hair. I’ve recently been taking biotin and am looking for positive results soon. It’s also good for your nails. Including eggs, nuts, meat and seeds in your diet will provide natural protein that’s good for hair and nails.

Another beauty tip that all of us can benefit from is to groom your eyebrows. You can go from looking bushy to beautiful in just a few moments and bring focus to your eyes. Trimming and waxing brows will give you a finished look. You may need to look at the fashion magazines to determine your shape. Also, have your esthetician follow your natural brow line to enhance your look. If they have thinned out, add brow powder or pencil to give your face a fuller look.

All of us can benefit from protecting the skin from the elements. Sun, wind and cold can dry out the skin and make it itchy and pale. Always wear sunscreen and moisturizer and hydrate your skin and body by drinking plenty of water. Be sure to visit the rest of my website  to meet all your beauty needs.

Harsh Skincare Products

All skincare products are not good for the skin. Companies may claim that their product is safe, but in fact, it could harm your skin and cause it to age prematurely. Before using a product you should read the label and make sure that you know exactly what the ingredients are and the effects that they will have on your skin.

A few ingredients that may be causing your skin to age are emulsifiers, sulfates, and alcohol. Emulsifiers are added to skincare products, like face wash, in order to bind the ingredients together and keep the individual parts of the product from separating. Moreover, emulsifiers have a tendency to stick to the skin even after you wash the product off, leaving clogged pores to dry out the surface of the skin causing wrinkles.

Many companies use sulfates because they are an inexpensive foaming agent. They manufacture products with satisfying foaming components, but are very drying when used every day. They may also damage the surface of the skin.

Alcohol is another common ingredient in skincare that you should be wary of. It dries out the skin and breaks down the natural defenses. This process leaves the skin vulnerable.

As you can see from above, there are many simple things that you can incorporate into your everyday life to minimize signs of aging. You can reduce age signs by remembering to put on sunscreen, cleanse, and moisturize your skin. However, be sure to avoid smoking, tanning, and products without known contents.  Don’t make the mistake of waiting until it’s too late to preserve your skin. Be sure to visit the rest of my website  to meet all your beauty needs.

Care for Aging Skin

The Outward Signs of Aging Skin

Decreased skin elasticity (sagging skin and wrinkles) is the hallmark sign of aging skin. Skin primarily consists of two proteins, collagen and elastin. Collagen’s three stranded helical shape is what consists of the skin’s strength, firmness, and elastic properties. Elastin, by virtue of its name, contributes most to the skin’s elasticity. It allows skin to quickly return to its normal position after it has been depressed or pulled out of place.

As skin ages, it takes longer to return to its normal position. The ability of collagen and elastin to function properly declines with age. This is due in large part to one’s genetic makeup. However, there are some behaviors that accelerate loss of elasticity, skin sagging, and wrinkles. These include smoking, exposure to U.V. radiation, stress, insufficient sleep, and a high sugar intake. Even if one leads a healthy lifestyle by staying out of the sun, not smoking, avoiding stress, getting eight hours of sleep every night, and never eating refined sugars, one still has to contend with her genetic composition.

Aging skin also reveals shrunken capillaries which result from arteries clogged with cholesterol and calcium deposits. Arterial flexibility throughout the body decreases with age, and there is compromised blood flow to the periphery, particularly to the skin. Reduced blood flow means less oxygen and nutrient delivery to the skin. A healthy diet packed with antioxidant rich fruits and vegetables will not be as beneficial if the vitamins and minerals cannot reach the skin cells. Be sure to visit the rest of my website  to meet all your beauty needs.

Beautiful Brow Maintenance

I have always admired beautiful brows and since becoming an esthetician, I admire them even more. Properly maintained brows automatically enhance a woman’s beauty. It fills her face and gives her a complete look. Brows play an important role in our daily beauty routine.

Apart from eyebrows functioning as a barrier that prevents sweat and dust from falling down into our eyes, they also make one’s face more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. With that being said, how we care and maintain our eyebrows either complements our beauty or takes away from it. The perfect brows can help one look more attractive and younger by simply emphasizing their eyes.

Some people choose to get their brows done professionally which comes at a cost while some do it themselves. Simple cosmetic tools like a spiral brush, brow shaping scissors, tweezers and brow pencil are good enough to groom your eyebrows once you understand how the shape will complement your face.

Grooming them once a month is good enough so whether you choose to maintain them yourself or have it done professionally, just make sure it complements your face structure.

Natural Look of HD Brown vs. Artistic Look of HD Brows

Some people choose to go the extra mile and attend to their eyebrows in a more fashionable manner by shaping, shading and contouring them. These kind of brows have been given the name HD Brow or the fade which is today’s hottest eyebrow trend. Make-up artists have perfected this trend as it works great in complimenting one’s face in a photo shoot. On the other hand, it is a bit tricky for the average person to try this kind of artistic brow at home as in the look can go horribly wrong. By all means, nothing is wrong by trying this look at home but moderation is the key. Going for a more natural look shown in the image above will definitely turn heads.

Eyebrow Embroidery

Last but not least, one last trend that cannot be forgotten is ‘tattooed eyebrows’. This phenomenon, which is mainly popular in Singapore and Malaysia, is otherwise known as cosmetic tattooing, semi-permanent makeup, pigment embroidery, 3-D eyebrow embroidery or microblading. It’s a more permanent solution to filling one’s brows everyday to get that desired look of fuller eyebrows. People who have naturally thin faint brows due to genetics tend to go for this option. They do require a touch up at least once a year as overtime it fades due to the fact that is done with a semi-permanent pigment. The technique used is natural feathering of hair like strokes to create fuller and bolder looking brows. In fact, the process requires no tattoo gun, no ink, and no bleeding or downtime and the results are flawless, natural looking brows.

To sum it all up, however one chooses to maintain their brows is entirely up to them. Some people feel more confident with the bold look while others feel more comfortable with the more natural looking brows.

Should You Change Your Skin Routine?

I started thinking about my skin care routine years ago since I knew what I was doing was old fashioned. Using the same cleanser on my face as I did on my body was harming and drying my skin. Therefore, I started seeing an esthetician and she put me on the right track.

Little did I know that I’d too become an esthetician and the rest is history. We all can do something about the aging process and our skin. Making specific changes can help us minimize and wrinkles, dry skin, and age spots. Your skin can indeed be beautiful and glowing again.

Going to bed without cleansing and moisturizing your skin is no longer acceptable. As you age, it is so important to remove makeup and debris from your skin. This will allow your skin to breathe and unclog your pores.

Aging brings with it thinner skin since it loses fat cells. Your veins are easily seen and it’s easier to bruise as well. Protecting your skin against bumps take longer to get well. Clear and healthy skin should be your goal.

Drinking water is one of the best things you can do for your body and skin. Waxing, facials, and exercise are better experiences with hydrated skin.

Water helps your skin in looking younger, and tanning does the opposite. The sun is drying, causes wrinkles, and dehydrates. Have you ever seen someone who tans often? Do they look older to you? If you don’t see it now, you will see it in years to come.

If you smoke, stop. Too much perfume, soap, and hot showers all add to the aging process. Exercise and yoga will help in relieving stress and to better care for your skin.

Although water cleanses, you’ll need a moisturizer to smooth and keep your skin soft. Daily use is essential in addition to bathing in warm water; especially if you live in a warm weather state or use air conditioning.

Too much sun causes age spots and skin tags (small, flesh-colored growths). Apply proper SPF 15 or above and protective clothing to have as much coverage as possible.

Also, many skin care products simply do not perform well, if at all. It is best to consult your esthetician if you’re concerned about wrinkles and age spots. She can correctly guide you to the proper skin care products.

Avoid products which contain too much perfume or which may contain too many types of fillers. If a product causes your skin to itch, tingle, or turn red, stop using it immediately and see your esthetician.

If you take care of your skin in your youth, you’ll have fewer troubles. Alter your skin routine to avoid issues as you age. Cleaning and moisturizing will be your skin’s best friend. Treat it kindly.

Treating Ethnic Skin Conditions

I perform many waxing procedures throughout the day. From the many responses from the waxing, I get asked often about laser treatments. A laser treatment is a resurfacing of the skin that uses beams of lights to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, scars, sun damage, warts, and more. Even though doctors perform laser treatments, it is important for estheticians to know how and why they are used.

YAG, yttrium aluminum garnet, laser is the appropriate type for ethnic skin. This laser penetrates the skin to absorb energy leaving the top of the skin intact. Ethnic skin will burn if the proper laser is not used, therefore it is imperative to know which laser will be used on your skin.

Furthermore, as an informed consumer, if a product says it’s a facial cleanser or moisturizer, doesn’t mean it’s the right product for you. Many people think that the same skin care regimen works as well on African Americans and Hispanics as it does on non-ethnic skin types.

Certain issues with ethnic skin show signs of dark spots, acne, keloid, discoloration, and facial bumps due to shaving. One way to determine how to treat your skin is to determine your skin type and condition. There are five different skin types (normal, oily, combination, dry, and sensitive) to consider. Within those skin types, the face can be a combination of either of these. In addition, the esthetician will know how to treat your skin type as well as know what is the condition and previous medications. That should be known before a treatment is performed.

Products made for specific skin types and conditions are recommended since darker skin types deal issues such as melasma, or dark patches and dark spots. Be careful to use correct products since, irritation, skin discoloration and bump formation is likely to form. Also, use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 when outside and touch it up throughout the day

See your esthetician regularly for monthly facials and a skin care regimen. She will consult with you on the best ways to treat your skin.
